Connectedness for All

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact the United States, it is having disproportionate health, economic, and social impacts on low-income populations and communities of color who are already marginalized and most prone to social disconnectedness. These same communities are also being systematically denied the digital “safety nets” needed to keep them connected to social support networks and buffered from the threats of the pandemic. Our Digital Safety Nets initiative is bridging this “digital divide” by providing tech access and digital solutions for low-income and underserved communities facing social disconnectedness throughout COVID-19.

Your support can make a life-changing difference:

• $50 will purchase a personal hotspot device, enabling mobile internet access both inside and outside the home.

• $30 will cover 6GB data coverage per month per hotspot device.

• $100 will purchase a tablet to keep individuals connected with friends and family.

• $250 will purchase a Google Chromebook to keep a child engaged with online learning.

• $350 will purchase a laptop to keep adults connected to work from home.

• $500 will equip one household with a “Social Connectedness Kit,” including the purchase of a computer or tablet with pre-loaded internet connectivity, add-on apps, assistive technology software, and information enabling free and easy access to tele-healthcare and wellness services.

Providing Digital Safety Nets for Children and Families during COVID-19

Thanks to generous support of our donor community, we have provided over 900 devices to those who would otherwise be isolated from school, work, and family. Please help us continue to bridge the digital divide, by sponsoring someone’s access to tech, so they can safely connect with the world beyond their home. All donations will support a child or adult in need, including individuals who are homebound due to a disability or chronic health condition. Internet access and tech-enabled supports provide school access for children, a lifeline for individuals feeling unsafe or unwell in their homes, and a connection to loved ones and resources outside of the home.
