As part of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai’s Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance, the Charles Lazarus Children’s Abilities Center is committed to being an innovation center of excellence that serves children and families all over the world. Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to tools and resources they need to reach their full potential, regardless of their circumstances. Our elite team of clinicians, artists, entrepreneurs, and scientists draw upon current advances in technology to develop breakthrough treatments to tackle some of the greatest challenges facing child health today.

Social Creatures is a nonprofit organization working to keep all individuals continuously connected to social support networks and part of a community throughout COVID-19 (and beyond). We are a collective of researchers, clinicians, educators, advocates, and creatives, who have seen first-hand through our careers what research confirms: that social connectedness—the ability to meaningfully connect or feel close with others—is not only important for promoting happiness and mental health, but also physical health and well-being. We are on a mission to keep everyone socially connected, no matter their backgrounds or circumstances, to promote overall health and happiness for all. You can find out more about our work and team at www.thesocialcreatures.org.

STEAMpark, INC is a New Jersey-based 501(c)(3) whose mission is to build better futures for historically underserved kids with out-of-school programs that offer educational, social and wellness support. An exciting STEAMpark initiative happening now is STEMgirls Online Weekly Workshops, a virtual learning program that offers year-round academic and social-emotional connectedness for girls in 3rd to 8th grades. Girls from all over are learning and growing together in safe, online classrooms, learning critical skills to help them navigate the new normal. The Family Room provides a private, secure, virtual space that pulls together many of the things children like to do in one easy to navigate site. This platform has a video chat functionality that allows children and adults to spend time together learning and having fun. The space is flexible as it allows different groups of people to communicate together or independently. The content on The Family Room is based on the age and interests of the child using it, and it is easy to add additional content. You can learn more about our work at thefamilyroom.biz.
